Sleeping Bag Care & Washing Instructions
Your sleeping bag is fully machine washable. To make the most of its insulation and extend its lifetime, please follow these care guidelines.
General Care (All Sleeping Bags)
- Shake the sleeping bag well before use to optimize insulation.
- Always air the bag after every use.
- Use a sleeping bag liner whenever possible to extend its lifetime.
- Spot clean with lukewarm soapy water and a sponge when needed.
- Light dirt on the surface can be brushed away with a stiff brush.
Machine Washing – Synthetic Sleeping Bags
If your bag is extremely dirty:
- Machine type: Use an oversized commercial automatic machine with a rotating drum only. Do not use a top-loading agitator machine.
- Temperature: Max. 30°C.
- Detergent: Use a liquid detergent designed for laundry.
- Rinsing: Rinse at least 5 times.
- Water removal: Press water out by hand or spin for max. 20 seconds. Do not wring.
- Drying: Tumble-dry at low temperature, or lay flat to drip-dry.
Never hang-dry as this may damage insulation.
Machine Washing – Down Sleeping Bags
For down-filled sleeping bags, follow the same instructions as above with these important differences:
- Drying: Always tumble-dry at low temperature with two dryer balls to restore loft and prevent clumping.
- Storage: After use, store in a large storage sack (not the compression bag) to help retain loft and prolong the bag’s lifespan.
Important Safety Warning
Sleeping bag fabrics and insulating materials are flammable.
- Do not expose your sleeping bag to open flames.
- Keep it away from campfires, stoves, or any other ignition sources.
By following these care instructions, you’ll ensure your sleeping bag remains comfortable, clean, and ready for many adventures ahead.
