We are introducing a new foam construction for self-inflating mats: the Outwell Stellar Cut-out. A 4-way stretch foam construction designed to reduce material use while improving packability, the new cut-out allows the foam to compress significantly when deflated and stretch back out when air enters the mat.

The new Outwell Stellar cut out is a 4-way stretch foam construction that improves three key areas: weight, foam waste, and pack size. All while ensuring full comfort when inflated. By cutting the foam a certain way, we have created a construction that is lighter, more compact, and more resource-conscious.
The result is a smarter mat construction that has a 45% foam weight reduction*, creates no foam waste from the cut out, and expands up to 68% when inflated*.

how the Outwell Stellar Cut-out works
The foam is cut in a star pattern that can stretch in four directions.
When the mat is deflated, the cut-out structure allows the foam to contract and compress efficiently. This helps the mat pack down smaller, making it easier to transport and store.
When air enters the mat again, the foam stretches out in multiple directions. The 4-way cut-out pattern allows the structure to expand back toward its full shape, helping restore comfort and volume.
The result is a mat construction that is compact when packed and comfortable when inflated.
